The monitoring instrument complies with the national standard "HJ 377-2019 Technical Requirements and Testing Methods for Chemical Oxygen Demand (CODcr) Water Quality Online Automatic Monitoring Instrument", and can work continuously without human supervision for a long time according to on-site settings. It is suitable for water quality monitoring of pollution source discharge wastewater, industrial process wastewater, industrial sewage treatment plant wastewater, municipal sewage treatment plant wastewater, surface water, etc.

Ammonia nitrogen, which exists in the form of free ammonia or ammonium ions, reacts with Nessler's reagent to form a light reddish brown complex. The monitor detects this color change and converts it into an ammonia nitrogen value for output.
