The monitor complies with the national standard "HJ/T 102-2003 Technical Requirements for Total Nitrogen Water Quality Automatic Analyzer" and the operating instructions of the Environmental Monitoring Instrument Quality Supervision and Inspection Center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection "HJC-ZY98-2022 Water Quality Total Nitrogen Online Monitor Testing Operating Instructions". It can be set on site and work automatically and continuously for a long time without supervision. It is suitable for water quality monitoring of wastewater discharged from pollution sources, wastewater from municipal sewage treatment plants, surface water, etc.

In the presence of potassium persulfate, all nitrogen-containing compounds in the water sample are converted into nitrate nitrogen after high digestion. The absorbance is measured at a wavelength of 220nm and converted to total nitrogen value.
